Cedar Tree Collection

The cedar tree is native to the western Himalayas and Mediterranean, and has been used for millenia for spiritual ceremonies, medicinal purposes, and in building homes, and boats for voyaging. Its resin and wood are aromatic, with a spiced, balsamic scent. Many species of cedar can be trained into bonsai.

This cedar tree collection consists of sharp, angular forms, representing the spirit of the cedar tree as protector and a source of strength.

Elena draws inspiration from the cedar trees lining Cedar Hill, in Central Park, New York City.

The heart’s affections are divided like the branches of the cedar tree; if the tree loses one strong branch; it will suffer but it does not die; it will pour all its vitality into the next branch so that it will grow and fill the empty place.”
